Statement from Bishop Burbidge on the 44th Annual March For Life

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge

Once again we recall the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision Roe vs. Wade by peaceably assembling in the annual March for Life. The tragedy of millions of defenseless lives destroyed by abortion is indeed a call to let our government officials and the world know that human life must be protected from the moment of conception to natural death. At the annual March for Life, hundreds of thousands gather to petition for an end to this grievous stain on our nation and to celebrate the gift of human life.

This year, the March for Life organization invites us to reflect on the theme “The Power of One.” It is always imperative for us to be reminded that as each and every human life is unique and unrepeatable, it also takes each and every one of us to make a difference. Of course it is in the power of the One, Triune God that human life exists. Therefore, we turn to God for the grace to be courageous and faithful witnesses to the Gospel of Life. May the 44th March for Life be one of peace and safety and may many hearts be transformed and the lives of the unborn be protected.
