May 13, 2017, marks the 100th anniversary of the first of the Blessed Mother’s apparitions in Fátima, Portugal. In several visits to three young children in 1917, Our Lady revealed that God desired the fostering of devotion to her Immaculate Heart throughout the world. On his pilgrimage to Fátima marking this anniversary, Pope Francis will canonize Blesseds Jacinta and Francisco Marto, two of the children who witnessed the apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima. As we celebrate this special anniversary and the canonization of these two visionaries, we pray that the Blessed Mother and Saints Jacinta and Francisco intercede for us, so that we may always entrust ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of her Son, Jesus Christ.
