Arlington diocesan Catholic Charities’ Christ House opened its doors to the hungry on Thanksgiving, offering a full holiday dinner that was served by Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde and other volunteers at the Alexandria shelter.
Bishop Loverde, who has come to Christ House for the past 10 years to assist with Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the needy, also gave an invocation, greeted guests, and thanked volunteers and staff handling food preparation, serving and clean-up.
Christmas dinner will be served on Christmas Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Food donations are always welcome.
