Weekend planner: July 27-29
After putting our latest issue to print this week, the Catholic Herald staff took some time off Wednesday afternoon to host an ice cream social for the diocesan administrative offices. (See photos from the event on our facebook page here.) An annual tradition for our staff, the social always serves as a tasty reminder of all that is good about summer.
With August just around the corner, this weekend will be a perfect chance to soak up some summer fun and faith-filled fellowship. If you would like to dig deeper into the power of the Gospel, consider taking part in the Unbound Conference with Neal and Janet Lozano of Heart of the Father Ministries. The conference will take place Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at St. James School in Falls Church. For more information, visit arlingtonrenewal.org.
Sunday, single Catholics over 40 are invited to join the Prime Time Single Catholics for a Roving Restauranteers dinner at Piero’s Corner in Fairfax at 6 p.m. Elsewhere in the diocese, the Institute for Catholic Culture will present a lecture on “Beauty and Sacred Architecture” at St. James Church in Falls Church.
For these and other events around the diocese, be sure to check out the calendar page on catholicherald.com. While you’re there, take a look at our movie listings, with reviews of many new releases, including family-favorite "Ice Age: Continental Drift".
No matter what you end up doing, have a safe and happy weekend!
