Diocese welcomes new school leaders

The Diocese of Arlington welcome seven new principals and a preschool director this academic year.

 

Adrianne Jewett, principal of Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Vienna, was born in Wilmington, Del. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Newark, in 2001 and a master’s in education from University of Phoenix in 2010. She previously taught in both the Diocese of Arlington and the Diocese of Wilmington. For the past two years, she has been assistant principal of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Barbara Dalmut, principal of St. Bernadette School in Springfield, was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1975 and a law degree in 1978, both from the University of Georgia in Athens. She earned her master’s in education from Marymount University in Arlington in 2009. She served as principal of St. Ambrose School in Annandale (2008-15.)

Austin Poole, principal of Epiphany School in Culpepper, was born in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kent in England in 1982 and his master’s in education from George Mason University in Fairfax in 1992. He taught for seven years at Linton Hall School in Bristow. From 1992 to 1995, he served as principal of St. Ann School in Arlington. He last served as principal of Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Vienna (1998-2017.)

Nora Buçaj, principal of Corpus Christi School in Falls Church, was born in the Bronx, N.Y. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2003 and a master’s of science in teaching in 2010, both from Pace University in New York City. She is working toward a master’s in administration and supervision from Marymount University in Arlington. She previously worked in the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Dallas. She worked at St. Mary’s School in Alexandria (2015-17.)

Liz Goldman, principal of St. Veronica School in Chantilly, was born in St. Louis Park, Minn. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., in 1998 and is working toward her master’s in education from Marymount University in Arlington. She previously worked in the Diocese of Green Bay, Wis., and at St. Ambrose School in Annandale. She became assistant principal of St. Veronica in 2013.

David Lima, principal of St. William of York School in Stafford, was born in New Bedford, Mass. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Utica College of Syracuse University in New York in 1996 and his master’s of public administration from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass., in 2013. He previously worked in the Diocese of Fall River, Mass., and at St. William of York.  

Jodi Reagan, principal of Queen of Apostles School in Alexandria, was born in Havre de Grace, Md. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Ga., in 1996 and her master’s in 1998. She previously worked in the Archdiocese of Washington and the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Michelle Huber, director of St. Mary of Sorrows Preschool in Fairfax, was born in Norfolk. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1990. She previously worked as a teacher at St. Mary of Sorrows.
