Christendom College celebrated commencement weekend May
13-15, awarding 72 Bachelor of Arts degrees and one Associate
of Arts degree, and honoring renowned historian James
Hitchcock and Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, grand master of the
Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Married since 2003 and the parents of five children, stand-up
comedian Jim Gaffigan, and his wife, Jeannie, are devout
Catholics and writing partners. They teamed up for their

Fifteen graduating seniors from four Arlington diocesan high
schools will attend military academies this fall.
According to the diocesan Office of Catholic Schools, the
following people will retire at the end of this school year

There are two well-known players in standardized college
entrance testing - the SATs and the ACTs. The SATs have been
keeping high school seniors on pins and needles since 1926,
the ACTs since 1956.
Diego Garcia is a 17-year-old senior at Bishop O'Connell High
School in Arlington and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in
Herndon. At an age when most students would be happy with the
traditional family vacation at the beach, Garcia has traveled
to 52 different countries. And it's not the usual
destinations; his favorite place was Egypt, and he just
returned from India.
Katie Mitchell attended the University of Notre Dame in
Indiana to play golf, but wound up finding her Catholic
faith. With chapels in every building and friends who shared
the same values, sacraments and spiritual encouragement were
never more than a dorm room away. Finding that same
environment after college was a little more challenging.
