A three-year project to install 22 new stained glass windows at St. Jude Church in Fredericksburg was completed in March. The windows show scenes from the life of Jesus, starting with the Annunciation, said Helen Huff, parish business manager.
“When the Church was dedicated in 2018, the windows were frosted glass,” she said. “In the spring of 2019, we held a presentation on the windows and asked people to sponsor windows. Within a very short period of time, all 22 windows were taken, some by a single donor and others by groups of people.”
The windows were designed and installed by artisans at Beyer Studio in Philadelphia, which specializes in designing and installing architectural stained glass.
Huff said the last nine windows show scenes from: Palm Sunday, Jesus carrying the Cross, the Crucifixion, Descent from the Cross, Resurrection, Ascension into Heaven, Coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Assumption of the Blessed Mother into Heaven and the Crowning of Mary, Queen of Heaven.
